Affordable housing in northern Maine can be simply about reducing the cost of staying warm. Sustainable Housing working teams in each county will address housing needs – whether new, retrofit, or energy efficient – especially for low-moderate income households near places of work, shopping and services.

Desired Outcomes

  • Address housing needs within the region, especially those related to increasing availability of affordable housing for low and moderately low income households
  • Increase in the median household income and stem population loss
